Key facts of the programme

The master of science programme has the title "Sustainable Management of Natural Resources", with the abbreviation "SMNR".
The master of science in SMNR has relevance at regional to international level.
The master of science in SMNR is a research masters.
The degree is "Masters of Science", with the abbreviation MSc

The master of science programme will start in November of each year and a maximum of 20  students will be selected each year.

Programme structure

The MSc programme accounts for a total of 120 ECTS spread over three years. A number of common courses serves to meet the final qualifications of all future graduates, irrespective of specialisation. A limited list of specialisation courses serves to allow for in depth study of one specialisation.

Language

Teaching and examinations are mainly given in English. It is thus essential that students have a good knowledge of English and sometimes in Dutch.

 Time of lectures and examinations

Courses are given from Monday to Friday mainly from 14.00 till 18.30 hour (occasionally from 18.00-21.00 hour) including breaks. The programme is based on block system. This allows the students to have concentrated periods of on-site, face-to-face learning and focus on one module at a time, followed by more self-directed and collaborative learning periods. Excursions may be organized in the weekends.

Examinations are taken from 14.00-17.00 hours in Room 71 at FTeW. Note that some courses only offer one exam per year.

A detailed time table is issued via Moodle at the beginning of the academic year. Any timetable alterations are notified via email.

Fees

The following fees will be applied:

  • Annual registration fee (AdeKUS) SRD 1850 
  • Annual tuition fee USD 2100

       TOTAL SRD 1850 + USD 2100 

The above values may be subject to change.

Students who have crossed their study duration (art. 10.1: max. 4.5 years) according to the FTeW examination rules, will also pay a penalty fee of SRD 500 per year.
